From seed to finished frame
Together, Holmen and Martinsons have created a complete value chain that provides an important advantage when it comes to reliability and security of supply – even in times of turmoil in the wider world. Holmen is one of Sweden’s largest forest owners, which provides access to raw materials that are sawn and processed into glulam and CLT components at the Group’s own facilities.
This is complemented by Martinsons’ expertise in everything from consultation and project planning to project management and installation, which makes it possible to be a driving force in project collaborations with other experts in sustainable construction. All in all, this creates a cohesive and secure value chain, all the way from seed to fully assembled frame.
Raw material
Sawing
The raw material is sawn at Holmen’s own sawmill in Bygdsiljum, Västerbotten. The sawmill is well invested with an annual capacity of 500 000 m3 of wood products. One of the industry’s leading improvement projects is also being carried out here.
Processing
In Bygdsiljum, the wood products are processed into CLT and glulam building elements, and further prefabricated based on the project’s requirements. We have more than 50 years’ experience in the manufacture of glulam and around 20 years’ experience in the manufacture of CLT.
Consultation
Based on the team’s collective experience, we are able to offer value-creating advice and ensure both fair costings and secure contracts.
Design
Broad experience and knowledge of our processes and employees means that we can provide the right conditions for both prefabrication and construction at an early stage. An inquisitive and exploratory approach helps us find the right solutions in collaboration with clients, architects and other stakeholders.
Project management
The managers and project management team are happy to take the lead role in project collaborations with other experts in sustainable wood construction, with the aim of creating value at all levels.
Installation
Martinsons has Sweden’s leading project management and installation team when it comes to glulam and CLT frames. This ensures efficient and high-quality implementation on the construction site.
